Check the full depth from the wall, especially beside a bed or in a narrow passage. An adjustable arm also needs enough room to move.
Check the exact product for hardwired or plug-in installation. A visible cord, switch position and nearby socket can affect both the look and everyday use.
Compare upward, downward and diffused light in the product images. For reading, check the shade opening and adjustability; for wet areas, confirm the required protection with your installer.
