Light around the table
The dining table is the starting point. Compare a single pendant, a linear fixture or a chandelier against its length, width and position in the room.
Record the tabletop dimensions and ceiling height. Check the fixture's complete width and installed drop so the arrangement suits both seated conversation and the room around it.
Compare diffused shades with exposed bulbs and downward-facing designs. If you want adjustable brightness, verify that the chosen light source and control are compatible.
Confirm the ceiling power point and canopy location. A fixture centred on the room may not be centred on the table; discuss any repositioning with your installer.
